data updates

We updates the stock data daily but we cannot promise the "exact time" of update, maybe one good fine day when we start our subscription service we will be able to affored a schedured updates of the price data.

You will however, be able to know if the data is updated or is being updated. You can check the date the stocks are updated to at the top of the NYSE or NASDAQ stock's page. For example, the red circle in the extracted picture below for the NYSE stock's page showed that the date is updated for the trading day 26 September 2005). Latest: we have since changed the updated date format to a more human friendly version.

At times, you may be seeing the site when the data is being updated. When this happens not all stocks will be represented in the respective stock exchange's table or nothing may be represented at all (see the example pictures below).

Well, take this in stride and come back about an hour or two. All data updates should be completed within one or two hours after the start of any updating process. Also, you may be happy to know that patience is one of the virtue for successful trading. All right, we solve this problem later...

how to trade using information from this site

In this site we used the indicator from williams %R, the RSI, our own support and resistance lines and price setups to generate buy and sell signals.

Where the system feels that the trade should be negated but with out going the opposite direction, a "take you out" signal represented by the "X" will be given in the chart. The "X" will also take the buy or sell short signal out after a profitable run and when a "profit protection" pattern is encountered.

How to use the charts in this site successfully;

1).first, understand that you cannot trade short term using cash, buy or go short using leveraged products like options and futures. Using cash is inefficient not only because it is not leveraged but the large commisions will make any small movement in the stock price unprofitable when compare to using futures or options. Furthermore you will have difficulties going short on a stock using cash on a short term basis.

2).select the stocks you want to trade, go to the chart, check out the signals and its recent historical performances. Look, the system we implement may not work for all price behaviors, we accepted this fact, you should too if you want to be a good trader.

So how many different price behaviors are there? -------> we don't know and run as fast as you can if someone says he knows. Basically, we can identify three price behaviors. They are "trend catching", "counter trend" and "tops and bottoms". They are all based on expected price movement with respect to current positions and relative positions of the 20 and 50 days moving averages as well as the William's %R and RSI indicator. That's all that is without cramping our minds with other indicators that causes analysis paralysis both to us and the programming codes.

We also create a "catch-all" price analysis pattern in which we find patterns in the chart that represents all the three price patterns above acting in addition to special setups pattern. We hope this "catch-all" will catch all three patterns above and then some more that we may not have identified.

Recently we implemented the PriceStructure Ranking (PR)
Google has their "page ranking"(PR) we have our "price ranking"(PR) which essentially checks the performance of the trading system to the price structure of the stock mentioned above. If the price structure of the stock in harmony with the trading system, then the PR will be high.

We strongly suggest you trade stocks with PR greater than or equal to 60 so that your chance of success in your next trade is better. We also suggest you select stocks with 3 or 4 numbers of high PRs so that these price patterns are represented in our system and once again, your chance of success is better in the next trade.

3).as a method of money management, after you have selected the stock you want to trade, always give the buy/sell signals three chances.

Have your heard about the "2B" trading phylosophy. If the 1st signal ended with a loss, and the 2nd signal also ended with a loss, the chances that the 3rd signal will make money and make up for the two earlier losses will be better.

As you are trading we have made the "cover buy" and "cover sell" as close as possible to your initial purchase price so that the amount of loss in any bad trade will be small.

why so little stocks?

We get this questions so many times that we repeat the reply here and in our FAQ page. Why so few stock, well actually the combined list of stocks in our Nasdaq and NYSE table is more that a hundred and that is adequate for short term trading purpose.

Also because you don't need all the stock in the stock exchange to be successful at trading. What you need is a list of stocks that are very liquid so that you can get out easily and inexpensively when the signals changes. A very heavily followed stock will also have very small bid and ask spread and that will facilitatate and niexpensive "get out" or "more-profist" when the price movement in the favored direction is small.

We also make sure the list of stocks are heavily followed by the "analyst" industry so that you can trade in the direction of the short term fundamentals, if you have access to them.

The final reason these stocks are in our list is because there are "single stock futures" or "options" on these stocks. Remember, we are trading, and these are very short term ventures, so we need leverage products like futures and options on these stocks we trade and because these leveraged products are available, the stock will be in our list. Some stocks with derivative products may not be in our list, well... maybe if you inform us and we can get the data, we may put it in.
